The Young Engaged Legal Professional Incubator (YELPI) is designed for law students from their first to fourth year of university. It offers an immersive and enriching early professional experience, far beyond the scope of a traditional academic internship.
The program provides a structured environment in which future legal professionals can discover the realities, demands and opportunities of the profession, while progressively shaping their professional identity and aspirations.
YELPI exposes students to concrete aspects of legal practice, enabling them to better understand the profession’s challenges and to build a solid foundation for their future entry into the job market.
Its primary objectives are to:
- Guide law students to define their professional path, helping them identify their ambitions, talents and the areas of law most aligned with their profile.
- Strengthening their technical skills and legal knowledge through rigorous mentorship, targeted training sessions, practical workshops and active participation in the firm’s operations.
- Prepare students for the standards of the professional world, instilling values of rigour, ethics, discipline, organization and excellence essential to any successful legal career.
By combining training, immersion and personalized guidance, YELPI stands as an essential driver for developing a generation of competent, confident and fully prepared legal professionals capable of contributing meaningfully to the evolution of the legal sector in Africa and beyond.
